Why DNS
We built DigitalStakeout to monitor the surface web, social media, and dark web for threats. We learned that the most reliable signal of any outbound connection, malicious or legitimate, is DNS. Every browser tab, every SaaS app, every AI agent, every malware payload starts with a DNS query. Control the resolution, control the connection.
Why AI Governance
In 2024, we watched our customers discover that their employees were connecting to dozens of AI services, ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, and others, that IT had never approved. Shadow AI became the new shadow IT, but with higher stakes: sensitive data flowing to external AI providers, compliance obligations emerging from EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF, and AI agents making autonomous connections to infrastructure registered hours ago. DNS is the natural control point.
